Erratic process' windows behavior
« on: 2011 May 31 07:56:08 »
Hi  all

I'm seeing a very wild behaviour on windows belonging to processes. Image windows are fine.
When I try to move a window it jumps "randomly" across the whole screen. I'm still able to drop it where I like, because it jumps off and on, but it is very annoying.

Also, I've found with 1.6.9 (I have to test it with the new release) that some process windows do not want to change monitors, in a dual setup.

I'm running Fedora 14 x64 with KDE.
Regards,

Carlos Milovic F.

Hmm, sounds to me like a bug on the X driver ? How about disabling transparency? (just guessing, on my Ubuntu there is no problem)

Disabling them from the preferences (and even after restarting the application) doesn't help. Also, the funny thing is that the same happens at the office, with a nVidia card and all desktop effects disabled (here, with ATI, and they work fine everywhere else).

Just to let you know that this was fixed by a system upgrade. I changed to Fedora 15, and now UI issues on both computers are gone.
