DLL file missing ???

Hi !

I've downloaded the last version of PI update and when I launch the .exe file , I receive this error



in english it mean , a dll file is missing IJGJPEG6B.DLL didn't have been found

Hi Dom,

You must have version 1.0.1 correctly installed on your system before updating to 1.0.2.

If you haven't installed 1.0.1, go to the downloads page on PixInsight's website and download the installation module for 1.0.1. You have two options: full installation with local documentation (some 20 MB) or binaries only (5 MB). Then install this module.

When 1.0.1 is installed, run the 1.0.2 update. Follow the instructions. If you haven't changed the default installation directory, the program will be on:

C:\Program Files\Pleiades Astrophoto\PixInsight LE

Enter the path above (or use the Browse button) when the WinRAR self-extracting program asks for the installation destination.

In other words, the PixInsightLE32.exe file for the 1.0.2 update must replace its existing counterpart on the folder where 1.0.1 was first installed. If you prefer, you may simply copy the .exe file manually.

This should work; please let me know.

I copy/paste the update where the older file was " C:\Program Files\Pleiades Astrophoto\PixInsight LE" and they asked if I want to replace the existing file , thing that I answered "yes"

All is ok !

i get the same problem  everything ok for installation , then, when i want to run the program, i see a windows with
IJGJPEG6B.dll missing.
it doesn't work  
help !!! :cry:

Hello guest,

Are you sure you have version 1.0.1 correctly installed?

To make sure, please try to run the installed 1.0.1 program from the Start > Programs menu. The PixInsight LE application should run normally. On the Help > About dialog, you should see version 1.0.1 somewhere.

If 1.0.1 works ok, then the problem should be that you are not copying the updated PixInsightLE32.exe file for version 1.0.2 to the correct location on your hard disk.

Double-click the update file (the file you downloaded from our website). When you are prompted to enter the installation destination, use the Browse button to locate this folder on your hard disk:

C:\Program Files\Pleiades Astrophoto\PixInsight LE

This should work. To check, run the application again and look for 1.0.2 on the Help > About dialog.

I promise that our future updates will be pretty easier to install ...  :oops:

I downloaded PixInsight 1.0 LE on 2006-10-31.

I also had the same problem.  I was pretty sure I had installed everything correctly.  I did it several times.  Here is the fix that worked for me.

The ICON on the desktop would not work.  Using it always generated the "missing dll" error message.  However, when I went to Programs => PixInsight 1.0 LE => Pleiades PixInsight 1.0 LE  everything worked fine.

I generated a new shortcut for the desktop and can now start the program either way.
