HDR Composition tutorial
« on: 2011 January 19 15:12:20 »
http://blog.deepskycolors.com/archive/2011/01/19/HDR-Composition-with-PixInsight.html

Comments and constructive criticism, of course, is most welcome.

PS: I could have been more descriptive about the parameters, etc. but I really was after showing the fact the tool is almost "plug'n'play".
I could also have gone a bit deeper in other topics (noise evaluation, etc) but I felt the tutorial was already getting too long, and I wanted the main focus to be the HDR composition and HDR tools - hopefully I attained that goal!  (?)

Hello Rogelio,

Great tutorial. Is there a possibility of posting the data used so we can follow along and see if we get the same results?

Thanks,

Steve

I can do that, but I'll be posting the link privately to whomever is interested (I pay for my bandwidth :) ).

I suppose master frames would be ok, right?
(otherwise I'd need to post all FITs plus master flats, darks, etc... that'd be a lot of bytes!)

Rogelio

The timing of your new tutorial is impeccable  :D

I am currently collecting data on Orion (using FSQ106 and STL11000)

Like Steve I'd really appreciate the chance to have a go with your data

Thanks for the tutorial. I have been working on the same area of sky, but need lots more data. I'm not sure what to expect under suburban skies with a dslr, but I image many hours of data to achieve the same result.

Thanks for the comments. Truth be told, IMHO this tutorial doesn't add much - if anything - to the already excellent tutorials and video tutorials the PTeam has already put out there regarding the HDRComposition module. Its purpose is a bit different, but of course, it can be used to get familiar with this tool as well.
