Preview help
« on: 2011 January 10 13:41:26 »
Hi,

After viewing the tutorials I would like to make use of previews for things like background neutralization and color correction. However, they don't seem to work the way Harvey demonstrates them. When I click on the New Preview tool I get a pop up that lets me define a preview by specifying coordinates. If I try to type Alt + N as Harry demonstrates I just get the "bing" sound that Windows makes when you've made an invalid key press.

How do you all define previews for tools like background neutralization and color correction?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

Try pressing the 17th icon from the left on the icon bar. It looks like a very pale green page with the top righthand corner folded over. Every time you press it you can create another preview. The icon next along lets you go back and drag the preview around and change its shape.

Cheers

Hi

This happens when you do not have a image selected ,  Please select a image ( make sure the top bar is blue )   and all will be good

Neither solution works. I still get that ugly box that lets me input coordinates or that annoying "bing" when I hit alt+n.
Here's a screen shot from my attempt. As you can see, the image is selected (the top bar is blue). However, when I open a new preview I get that stupid popup. This is very frustrating!

Ah...I see the problem. Go to View / Toolbars and make sure MODE is ticked.

Now you should see a few extra icons along the top icon bar. Look for the one that says 'New Preview Mode' when you mouseover it. This is the one you want.

That did it once I restarted PI. Thanks!
