Still I'm getting an "Invalid user authentication data". Vista 32bit. Any help is welcomed.

Hi John,

You've tried typing the password instead of copy and paste? This solved my problem.

Regards,

Enzo.

Yes Enzo,

actually I tried

a) copy-paste (from Firefox's remembered password list   ;) ) and
b) typing carefully many times

and I tried the ones I have for the commercial download area (which I can access from the browser btw) and the ones I have for the forum - none worked  :(

John,

Are you running an antivirus and/or firewall on your computer? There are antivirus programs that intercept encrypted data sent by PixInsight Core and modify them. An example is Avast. If you're running Avast, it is just impossible to authenticate from the update system unless you temporarily disable it.

Please try disabling your antivirus; your username and password work without any problem (I've just checked).
