I thanked Harry for his tutorials on another thread, but I of course want to recognize Juan for putting together this incredible set of tools. As I mentioned in the other thread, I was informed of PI when talking to my friend Joe Depasquale, an imaging guy for the Chandra X-ray telescope. (His work is here:

I've been using Nebulosity (which I still love) for a lot of processing and getting into Photoshop, but Joe mentioned just how powerful PI can be. I downloaded the trial, worked my way through a few tutorials, and produced my best image of M31 ever from a set of images I thought was a waste.
I'm now going to be able to show my high school astronomy students what is really possible with our observatory setup, actually getting at our great potential (finally!).
