PI Demo
« on: 2010 December 03 03:27:27 »
Hi all

Wasn't sure where to put this item

Last night I did a talk at my local astro club on imaging. First half was about collecting the data and the second half (after a break for mince pies!) covered processing of the collected data ie PI

I processed some LRGB subs I had for the Rosette and covered many aspects of PI in about 1.5 hours

I'd like to thank Harry for getting me on the right track all those months ago and Juan for explaining the technical details behind osme of the functions  :D

Who knows we may have some more in 'the Clan' soon

Hi

Glad it all went well , how receptive was the audience  ;)  when ever I show people they tend to say  "Its not as hard as I thought"

Harry

I had an audience of mixed abilities. There were complete novices (just getting into Astronomy) through to imagers. The latter were impressed by DBE, HDRWavelets and the Process Icons when I loaded them in.

There were quite a few discussions afterwards in groups that I over heard all very positive. I think I provoked th eodd discussion also with my phrase 'written by astrophotographers for astrophotographers'  :D

We were expecting a group from our nearest Astro Club but the weather put all but one guest off. I have offered to repeat the presentation at their Club.
