Need Images with gradients
« on: 2010 May 16 12:30:18 »
Hi All:

Has anyone an image with gradients not corrected with DBE like this??

I'm working with a Background correction procedure when DBE fails and need some images as examples to work with it.

Thanks. Silvercup

If you are really courageous I can send you the tiff of the following one (from a Canon in raw),
all I was able to do in a grey scale of the galaxy...

Hi Bilti:

This is a preliminary result of the procedure.

Saturared:

Normal:

Lack of signal due to vigneting is irreparable. Rest of gradients IMHO are properly corrected.

Need feedback.

Best. Silvercup.

Bitli,

If you are really courageous I can send you the tiff of the following one (from a Canon in raw),
all I was able to do in a grey scale of the galaxy...

This does not look like light pollution to me, rather bad flats and some other light source. For my Canon EOS40D, it was necessary to cover the view finder with black cloth, otherwise light entering this way would pollute my images.

Yes it is a pretty good result, you are able to recover a larger part of the image than I was able to. It is quite fantastic what one can recover with PI.

Georg,
Thanks for the tip on the view finder, this may have impacted some of my images. I will try next time. In this case I had indeed problems with the flat (to say the least). The light I used to aim at a reflector pannel broke (understandably so, as I let it fall on the floor), and I improvised a flat with an old napkin and a torch light. With limited success, as you see.

Hu bitli

Have you tried the white t-shirt method? :D
I do something very similar to get flats with canon lens.
