RBA to Speak at AIC 2010
« on: 2010 May 11 10:23:39 »
Congratulations on being selected as one of this years speakers.  http://www.aicccd.com/2010/website/index.html

What is the topic?  As usual this time conflicts with a maintenance trip to CTIO so I am going to miss AIC again:-(

It is a real shame that a volcanic dust cloud and a cr@p economy are keeping me stuck this side of the Atlantic - it would be an honour to catch up with some of you guys.

Ditto Bud.

Would love to see AIC offer presentations and workshops that focus on processing techniques using PI much as they have for PS. Time for AIC to get up to date. ;D They always ask attendees to offer suggestions for future conferences so need to start requesting PI presentations.

Cheers,

Steve

Jack presented a PI workshop at AIC 2008. I think after my MWAIC and Rogelio's AIC presentations PI presos will become more commonplace. Who know, maybe NEAIC will have one next year.

No, don't "pin" it, I'm happy keeping a low profile for now  ::)

It'll cover widefield compositions - like, "why do we always put the galaxy in the middle?" type of thing, and a bunch of techniques that probably won't be foreign to people in this forum. My goal is to make it interesting but also fun.

I will let you know our dates when firm but right around the AIC weekend is what I understand.  WIll flying Santiago and spend the night before heading up to CTIO.  Daniel V will also have my schedule so yes lets get together!
