Drag'n'drop to the IC, II tools
« on: 2010 April 10 08:07:33 »
It'd be nice being able to drag and drop files to the file list area in the ImageCalibration and ImageIntegration processes.
Not a high priority ticket, but this is the wish list area, right?  ;)

Yeah, that would be nice. That's how I load up DeepSkyStacker :)

As Juan states elsewhere,

I think that his ImageCalibration process, in its current form, is very much intended to be at the heart of a full featured process that more closely emulates DSS.

Whether this ends up being coded in PJSR or in PCL may not yet have been decided - however, with the new IC process being 'open code', then there is certainly far more scope to end up with a fully-blown PCL-coded 'DSS-style' implementation, whereby the image subsets merely have to be 'grouped' and identified to PI, after which a single mouse-click should be able to trigger the whole process from raw subs to multi-channel 'reduced' image (ready for final processing).

ImageCalibration is 'just the start' - a little bit of manual effort is needed to get the various stages done, but that might not be a 'bad thing' as such - after all, we users get to 'learn' the process of calibration by having to 'do' the separate stages ourselves.

Still enjoying the ride . . . . .

Very true, however for now I was just suggesting a file drag'n'drop feature, not a "one click does it all"  ;D
