Debayer Help

I have a QHY8 color camera that I just started with. I am using MaxIm Dl to Capture images. I assume this creates a Fit in Raw.  I don'ts know how to create a color image. I suspect I need to apply debayer? What mosaic Pattern RGGB ?

Hi Max,

PixInsight does not support Bayer raw FITS files directly. You can read them, of course, but they are not debayered automatically.

Fortunately, Sander Pool has written a DeBayer tool that works nicely. You'll find it under the ColorSpaces category in Process Explorer.

What mosaic Pattern RGGB ?

I have no idea, but it's easy: try them until you get good results (debayer and use STF to inspect debayered data). Luckily, there are only 4 choices

GBRG should work but verify for your driver and software, just in case the mosaic got shifted. I also wrote this wiki page with a simple debayer verification process:
