Real Time Preview weird screen behaviour
« on: 2009 November 10 20:56:09 »
All:

Just getting started with PI.

Question...was practicing with an image of M106 and got to point of doing Histogram Stretch...I selected 16 bits, area graph style, and then hit the RTP button. A new preview window opens - problem is, the top of the window is out of view on my screen. The bottom of the window is about 2/3rds the way down my screen. and, I cannot grab the new window to move it into view. Nothing I try seems to resize the preview window to bring the entire window into view. And, I cannot seem to close it once opened.

I am using an HP Elitebook Laptop with Win7 and PI 1.5.09.0553

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Hi Don,

nice to see you here on the PI forums. As far as I know PI should present scrollbars on the left and bottom of the workspace whenever a window extends beyond any of the borders. If you don't see them could you please post a screenshot of the entire PI window?
Best,

I tend to agree Sander,

If you can't get to the 'edges' of any window in the workspace, then tehre 'should' be a set of scrollbars on the main PI window. I have been caught out a few times - especially with a large, widescreen, monitor - where my eyes tend to 'forget' that there is actually an 'edge' to my PI universe !!

Everyone:

I wanted to attach a print screen of the problem but the system says the folder is full and will not let me upload the image...is there an email address I can send it to along with explanation?

Thanks,
Don

Hi Nikolay,

I've just incremented the maximum size of the uploads folder to 100 MB (previously it was 10 MB). I have decremented the maximum allowed size per attachment to 128 KB (it was 192 KB). I hope this will provide enough room for a while.

So please try again. It should work now.

Haha 8) Forum attachments are intended to include small screenshots or similar figures to illustrate bugs or suggestions about new implementations, etc. They are not intended to post astrophotos. If necessary, I'll increase this limit; I'm just trying to control growth of the uploads folder a little. Perhaps I've been a bit too stingy :)

Undoubtedly, Harry, you should. Ahh, the good old days of Z80, when one knew what was happening inside the box...  :)

It's fine Juan, I understand. I don't know how your site is hosted. My sites have unlimited storage and bandwidth for just a few $ a month so maybe I'm jaded :) If your host is restrictive with the amount of data you can store I think you should remind them that a 1TB hard drive costs less than $100 these days so really there's no need to even use the KB unit at all. Drag 'em into the 1990s (OK, 2000s). I mean 125 KB can't fit much of a screenshot either, not png anyway.

It's all good though. Plenty of free image hosting available everywhere.

Best,
