How to verify your debayer settings are correct

Hi,

This issue comes up a surprising number of times in various discussion groups I belong to. People change their drivers or some other component and are no longer sure the colors in their images are correct. So I wrote up a simple procedure to verify that your debayer settings match your camera/driver/capture software. It's relevant for PI because, well, it now has a debayer routine

Thanks, Sander for that link. A friend give me his QHY8 to make a test. I took almost 40 images of 15' of Veil nebula and was impossible to get proper colours. I've tried everything, all rgb patterns, in PI and in DSS with no sucess.

Will read that wiky and try to make the stack.

Hi Sergio,

be sure to join us at the QHYCCD Yahoo group if you continue to have trouble with the QHY8. Selecting 'QHY8' in DSS should be enough to make it work. Of course your raw stacks will look terrible (green) before processing. Simply do DBE or color calibration and 'normal' colors appear. You can use my method to verify the basics are correct. Don't think you'll automatically get pretty pictures

That's the point 8) I've done a DBE in a previously stacked image and now I have  'normal' colors. Thanks.
