unable to reinstall Pixinsight on Windows 10 PC
« on: 2020 January 26 09:09:16 »
Someone is able to help me to reistall Pixinsight after an action of AVIRA antivirus software that put in Quarantena all the files of Pixinsight ?
I restored the files and I had a new folder on my desk containing N° 2.324 files, but I didn't know how to use them.

So I decided to cancel that folder, in order to clean completely my computer from  Pixinsight files and to allow a new installing process

I have downloaded the file PI-windows-x64-1.8.8-3-20191216-c from the Official web site.to reinstall
Unfortunately I'm not able to reinstall Pixinsight because my system finds the old version still present on my computer.
But I'm not able to find any files of the old version!
Infact if I go to "Control Panel" --> "Program" --> unistall, I don't find any "Pixinsight" program anymore....
I've tried to use "FIND" tool in order to filter any "Pixinsight" file, and I tried to delete as many as possible (except of the "License" file), but again the installer file fins still the prevision version present on my PC.

Then I tried to install previous versions of Pixinsight but again, no result: I'm convinced that there are still some Pixinsight files around my comuter that is recognized by the installer when I try to install again Pixinsight.

Can you help me please? Any suggestion? Thanks a lot!

This is not a bug in PixInsight. This does not happen under normal working conditions. I cannot help you because I cannot reproduce or understand the problem you are experiencing, which has not been caused by PixInsight. You may want to request help from the authors of the antivirus software you are using, which has created the problem.
