Here is a new pre-release: QuickSTF. As the name suggest, it is intended to provide with an easy and fast way to adjust the SFT of any image. It is not as "accurate" as the current STF process, specially if you want to translate those values into a Histogram Transformation, but I think that it is very intuitive, and the dynamic readout mode allows for a very quick way to inspect the image (try at full view).
So, here are two main parameters: brightness and contrast. Yes, that straightforward. But, those operations have been designed in terms of histogram transformations, so they do not behave exactly as common brightness and contrast adjustments... so they reflect that behavior, but is not the same
A third parameter allows to modify the dynamic range, extending it. If you have problems adjusting the brightness/contrast for features very close to the black or white points, try this.
And, at the right, you'll see the jewel of this process, the readout mode activation. When enabled, clicking on the image will automatically change the brighness and contrast, depending on the coordinates. Just play
