Square artifacts around bright stars in deconvolution
« on: 2019 November 13 15:44:36 »
I have been struggling to deconvolve an OSC image of M31. Using a starmask support image that contains the brighter stars. After a number of iterations, adjusting the global sliders I have produced what appears to be a reasonably clean image -- but the brighter stars all have these square black boxes around them. I have remade the support image a few times but the best I seem to be able to do is reduce the box to the size of the star -- and no better. If I don't use the support image, all the brighter stars get raccoon eyes. Using the image, only the brightest stars get these boxes -- the rest seem fine. I have successfully deconvolved a number of images -- but this is the first time for squares. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
