Data Quality
« on: 2019 November 03 11:34:36 »
Hi folks

I am a PI newbie and new to the forum.

I followed some tutorials during the last days, especially about wide field milky way processing.

I have a series of lights and darks of the milky way shot with a 14 mm Samyang. When I apply the steps I see in the tutorials, my result are very poor. So I guess it might be a problem with the quality of my data.

Is there a way in PI to quantitatively rate the quality of my data?

Any help and tips greatly appreciated!

Many thanks in advance,
 Marco

Hi,

I think you are referring to SubFrameSelector.  Add your images and "Measure" and PixInsight will display graphs and give values for each image.  You can fine-tune the setting i.e. Pixel Scale, Gain etc.  I have not gotten different results by implementing these settings, so it is up to you.
