Histogramm Transformation is very slow
« on: 2019 October 06 13:39:33 »
Hi,

Since I upgraded to the last version 1.8.7 the Histogramm Transformation process is very slow. I see it is writing swap files and that seem to be slowing it down.

What can I do in order to makes it faster as in the previous version ?

Thank You

regards Rainer

Hi Rainer,

This cannot be reproduced. The HistogramTransformation tool runs perfectly on all of our working and testing machines, on all supported platforms. Nothing has changed in the HT tool in versions 1.8.6 and 1.8.7.

Hola Juan,

Gracias y Saludos

Hi Brad,

Today I tried again and when you do NOT resize the Real Time Preview then it is fast, otherwise when you change the size it gets very slow.

Not being able to resize the Real Time preview window into a bigger size is not a good thing.

Hi,

I can confirm the bug on my laptop (win7 pro)* also with CurvesTransformation.

The last update otherwise works very well - for example StarAlignment is much faster.

Best regards!
Herbert, Austria

Supplement: the bug only occurs if STF was previously used.

* I still can't accept that I have to buy a new computer with Windows 10 to use a flawless PixInsight.

As I already have said, this problem cannot be reproduced on any of our working and testing machines, on any supported platform. The R-T preview interface works perfectly on all of our machines. We cannot solve a problem that we are unable to reproduce.

Hi Rainer,

I also noticed that while waiting for the preview to render, clicking on the desktop or another app to change focus away from PI, the real time preview immediately renders.

Hi Brad,

I have noticed that too but it is annoying. So far I have only seen it with the Real Time preview window of HistogrammTransformation ...

I will go back to the previous version ...

Hi Juan,

I have noticed one more thing when I use HistogrammTransformation.

I choose in the process window Image06 and my question is ¿ why does it not automatically also open Image06 in Real Time preview and when clicking on Apply (F5) automatically change Image06 ?

I have at the moment two images open Image06 and Image 07 and I forgot to make active window Image o6 and had Image07 active and the changes where applied to Image07.

I think it is logical that when I choose Image06 in the Main Process window like HistogrammTransformation I want Image06 to be processed and not Image07 ¿?

At the moment as it is I need to click three times on the same window to have the changes made I want.

Thanks Rainer
