Image Integration Settings
« on: 2009 September 06 09:43:28 »
Just thought I would start a discussion to see what settings are being used in Image Integration to combine subframes to make master frames for images (not cal frames).  My settings are as follows:
Combination            Average
Normalization         Additive
Weights                 Noise Evaluation

Pixel Rejection        Percentile Clipping
Normalization         Scale + Offset

Pixel Rejection (2)  Leave all as defaults

Have not used Region of Interest.

So how about some discussion on this great tool?  Using the Staralign and this tool really makes work flow smooth.

Hi Jack

I am vary happy with these tools and now use them all the time   :)

I use most of the settings that you do except

1) I use winsorised sigma clipping as I find it selects my hot pixels, planes and the like very well

2) and very often use a sigma setting of around 5 as less clips to many pixels

Even though I do have a problem using noise evaluation with narrowband images as I seem to get some very variable weights ( even though they may be right and I need to look into this more )

Regards Harry

When the calibration module comes out I will a happy bunny ;D

CMON Harry we all know you use Windsorized sigma clipping because of its British connotation<G>.  Yeah I am excited about the possibility of a cal set of tools!

Hi Jack

There is  not much wind in the uk   :D

But if you want some cloud , rain , snow, hail,  and did  I mention rain    we can help you  :'(

When the calibration tools come I will not have to rescale everything , which is a bit of a chore
