AnnotateImage Script: Add DWB catalog?
« on: 2019 August 31 08:35:52 »
I'd like to add the DWB catalog as a custom catalog in AnnotateImage, but I can't seem to find it in Vizier.  Is there another way to add the DWB catalog?  I'm not very clear on the procedure so any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
the DWB catalogue is part of the SIMBAD Catalogue in Vizier.

You go on:
http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1969A%26A.....1..270D
select   SIMBAD Objects  194
Change the output options to ASCII with "; separator"
Cut and paste the result in an editor for preprocessing and
later into Exel for final format creation for the custom catalogue.
Be careful the separators should be finally Tabs !!!
Also note that this catalogue does only provide object number and coordinates.
There is no Mag and Diameter information there.
I would paste simply Mag 10 and diameter 5 minutes in all columns.

Hope this helps
Gerald

P.S.: I have the complete TExtfile here:
http://www.werbeagentur.org/oldwexi/DWB.txt
You only need to adapt it for the CustomCatalogue
