High contrast luminance extract
« on: 2019 April 25 04:51:06 »
I am reprocessing some captures of M31 (for the fifth time), redid the integration, crop and color calibrate (PCC). But when I went to extract the luminance from my linear OSC image, I got something unexpected -- the linear grey scale image looked as featureless as the OSC, but when I applied STF to check, I got a very high contrast image instead of what I was expecting. If I tagged it for 24 bit stretch I could get the grey scale, not what normally has happened. But trying to clone the image, for some reason dragging the triangle from STF to histogram stretch the icon changed to have an 'x' and would not apply. I had been minimizing process icons as I worked through instead of closing them. Could there be some sort of deadlock that is causing these weird problems? Or anything else that should be obvious that I screwed up? Advise of wiser heads would be appreciated.
