When I first started with PI I followed the free video tutorials at the link below. I started with the NEWBIES and just followed the tutorials in order, following them exactly even though I didn't know what I was doing. Pretty soon it started to make some sense and I started adjusting some of the settings. Each tutorial only works on one thing at a time, and, they aren't very long. Maybe they will help you too.
