This problem is related to an issue discussed in 2016, regarding the old DSLR_RAW module: https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=10342.msg65705.

This issue was fixed in 2016, but has reappeared with the new RAW module. If the user requests for camera-white-balance corrections they are not applied when producing CFA or RGB bayer output. Identical images are produced whether or not camera-white-balance is turned on.

Hi John,

This seems to be a limitation imposed by LibRaw, which the new RAW module uses to support raw formats. I'm going to look for a way to overcome this limitation. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you, Juan, much appreciated. Although this may seem like a trivial matter given the need to do color calibration later in the process, I find that applying this white balance is highly useful. It causes all three channels to be approximately on the same scale, avoiding a problem with pink star cores where the cores are were saturated only in the green channel in the raw data.
