Unknown or unsupported file type .xosm~
« on: 2018 December 10 14:38:46 »
Last night I was working on a project. I saved and shut down. This morning my project history had disappeared and when I try and load the project icon I get this message (see attached image). Before I shut down last night I also accepted an update. That was installed this morning when I restarted pixinsight. Any suggestions as to how to open the project or do I start again. i still have all the data.

Hi,

The .xosm is a project file and you can only open it from "Load Project"

space is not black

Thanks John, actually that is the message that I get when I try to load it from "Load Project". I did try and edit the file extension to remove the "~" and then load it from "Load Project". That didn't really work either. I got a screen of process icons against my desk top! Life is short so I think I will move on and start another project with the data I have. regards Peter

Hi,

Sometimes the ~ is in the filename or the extension signifies that it is a backup file, so not really sure what happened.

look up

Thanks for your time. I can only suspect that it got corrupted somehow when I shut it down.  I am already working on the data again! cheers Peter
