Pixinsight 1.5 will not show USB drives- Ubuntu 9.04 64bit

After having out of memory problems using 32bit XP & HDRWavelet transforms, I have built a Ubuntu 64bit system with 6Gb memory.
PI 1.5 runs really well but I have one slight problem. Pixinsight - Open Image Files - cannot see my USB drives only My computer and directories/folders?
I can drag and drop from the USB drives to the PI workspace ok and PI remembers recent USB image locations
All other installed applications can see the USB drives as expected

Any clues?

Make sure the permissions are properly set on the mount points.

You might also have to navigate to the mount point, usually they are not in your "home" directory.

Both my USB drives were mounted, but I unmounted and remounted them just in case!
But...I then dragged the relevant USB root folder icon to the PI open image files window and now PI can see the USB drives!

There is lots to learn in the PI and Linux world!
