Can the images sets and modules for calibration(soon), registration   and  integration be placed in the image container?

I think -nowadays- not; I tried several days ago with ImageContainer to register images , putting in ProcessContainer first  StarAligment and then ImageIntegration, -for align first and then stack- and it don't work. I tried so  to align and stack several images, and the process works well (in global context) only for the first process, namely, for align, but it don't work for the second -stack-. I think that the problem is that the output files generated by the StarAligment process can't be read as input by the ImageIntegration process. in the process container.

The second process should read automatically as input the files that the first process had build as output -the registered files, with the extension _r-, but it now don't happen. Now we have to use separately both processes, and in the sedond to select manually the files created as "_r" by StarAligment ...

I think that really wiil be great that the processes can be used aotomatically in Image-Process Container!

I am sure Juan will change this.
It allows for automated calibration and integration.

Hello,

Can someone please advice what im doing wrong?

I have processed an image and it look good. I can save the file with as .fit, but  when I re open the file the sceentranfer appears to have gone. (the image is pretty much dark as the raw file, only showing a few birght stars and need to use screen tranfer again). Is there a way to save the image as i saved it after processing? And also I am trying to save the file as a .jpg, but i keep getting the warning that the format is not supported and some data will not be saved. When i save it and open the .jpg file it also looks very dark only showing a few bright stars.

Thank you
Kind Regards

Jason

Hi Jason,

"I have processed an image and it look good. I can save the file with as .fit, but  when I re open the file the sceentranfer appears to have gone. Screen Transfer Function works only for visualization. So, STF doesn't affect the image process. You should use Histogram Transformation: once used STF, reset it and use HT. You can use the same parameters you've got with STF by dragging the 'execute' icon of STF into Histogram Transformation window (into the lower edges, beside 'execute' and 'apply' icons). Then, execute the action in your image with HT.

"And also I am trying to save the file as a .jpg, but i keep getting the warning that the format is not supported and some data will not be saved. When i save it and open the .jpg file it also looks very dark only showing a few bright stars."

Don't worry about the warning message if you have a master image copy in 32bit FIT. The message warns you that the sample data will change to a lower bit sample. You'll see how JPEG has less accuracy. But it doesn't changes your process. Also, other message warns you about FITS keywords data won't be saved.

Hope being helpful,

Marc

Hi Jason

As marc say you need to do the histogram stretch to create permanent alterations to your image :D

Look at my tutorial no 2 http://www.harrysastroshed.com/dbevideo.html

Even if you do not do the dbe part

Good luck

Hi Jason

It Looks like the frames are not properley alighned! did you use star alighnment tool

Have you inspected each sub to make sure there is no star trailing in each as with 27 subs I would exspect it to be deeper and cleaner

HI Harry,

I did use staralignment tool. However, I have only opened one image "Lagoon"( the reference one), then added all the files, the result is the  "Lagoon_registered".  How do i save each individual frame so they keep aligned? for later imageintegration

I will check each frame now to make sure no trails are present:)

Thanks

Hi Jason

You do not get 1 image with this tool, it alighns each image and then save them in a directory ( select one in the out put directory)

Its is these images ( not the origanals ) that you then use in the image intergration tool, this gives you the final image!

Ok understood:)

I have selected all the images to align from the add files(target images).
I have selected an output directory,
Working mode is Register/Match Images
file ext = .fit
Prefix A
Postfix_r
Mask_m,
sample format same as target
Overwrite existing files check box is not ticked
and the On error continue is selected.

When I apply and then check my output directory, its empyt!. No images have been saved there.. AAHHH. I have tried different options but none saves them to my output directory?

Could i try something else?
