And there we have it at 3.75 showing a focal length of 1001.06. Like you seen those parameters are very forgiving as far as the tool is concerned.

I'm baffled. If I leave the settings at default I get a fail to solve message. If I enter my correct pixel size I get the error already mentioned. I just can't see what I'm doing different from you.

The only thing I see from your screenshot is you're using a different file. I'm using autosave.tif . Try reseting PCC.

Here is a short video showing the processing of your image from the time I open PixInsight using nothing but the default settings and the searched coordinates for M27.

Hi, its the same data stacked in a different way. I don't think it would make that much difference. Thanks for the vid.

Hi, I see from the video that you're performing PCC before cropping, DBE and Background Neutralization. I was doing them first, I thought colour calibration was best done after those actions.

Ok, it now works if I crop, perform PCC, then DBE. Thanks a lot for your help.

I was just seeing if the image would solve in PCC. As far as order of doing things I would normally do DBE before PCC. Of course I would do any noise reduction cropping and other things also. Like I said I was just checking to see if the image would solve.

Hi, PCC does solve and perform the calibration, but not if I do DBE and Background Calibration first. It seems to be OK with cropping.

Look at this video and see if there is something basic that I am doing different from you. Here I open the tiff, use dynamic crop, dbe and then PCC. The other changes are just STF settings I use to changes brightness levels without using the sliders.

Hi, I think I'm using way to much crop. Seems to be working now thanks for your help.

There was a very recent update to the tool. https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=12441.msg76249#msg76249
