Image Container
« on: 2009 June 14 07:18:44 »
Hi All

I have not used the image container before :'(
So I was having a go with the debayer module and trying to apply it to the images in the container, but I can not get it to do it
Would someone please point out the error of my ways ???

Regards Harry

Hi Harry,

I've never tried it with an image container either so let me have a go at it.

Hi Harry,
Try to put the triangle at the bottom of the image container window over the process container icon..

Regards,
Pere.

Ah, that works. Took me a few seconds to figure out what Pere means:

- open Debayer module
- select parameters
- drag/drop the new instance icon to the workspace, creating a new icon
- open image container
- add images
- drag drop its new instance icon to the debayer icon

You'd think you can drop either the debayer instance straight from the process to the image container or vise versa but that doesn't work. Not sure if that's due to a shortcoming in my module.

Hi Gents

Thanks for the help!
Both ways work , but could be a bit easier ???
Is there a way to stop all the debayered images being outdated as only want to save them to file for stacking? ( pain closing 70 or 80 images)

Sorry Harry, I don't understand your question. What do you mean with 'outdated'? Closing images is easy using the command line interface. Try typing "close *RGB".

Hi Harry, Sander,

You can also use

Code: [Select]
close *
at the console - to close ALL images

Hi sander

Sorry flipping spell checker I mean't output!

I did know about the close command ( I did I am not lying :P)

But I hoped a little box unchecked might have done it.

By the way great work on the debayer mod ;)

Well, yes but that's like saying you can exit PI and restart it to close all your images :) The idea was to close only the debayered images I thought but maybe I misunderstood.

Hi Harry,

as I understand it you want the output from debayer to go straight into the stacking process, correct? I don't think that's possible right now and IMO a disadvantage of the current approach. Right now you have to stitch together rather disjoint processes. At some point if PI wants to compete with DSS it'll need to integrate all those processes into a single interface. Of course there are benefits to the modular approach as well in that you have more control.

Isn't that where a PJSR script provides the 'perfect' solution?

The PJSR provides an easily modified 'front end' for the calibration process, effectively mimicking the GUI of DSS.

That is certainly my next project - simply because I think that I can adapt my CMYG deBayer script quite easily.
