cannot get new software to work....

Every time I try to run the new software;
1)ABE takes like 8 times longer.....
2)the whole thing freezes in Pixel math 

I am running Vista...do I need to change something...
when I reinstall the version I put on in ? March/09,it seems OK...
annoying?

This is weird. The newest version is faster than the previous one, not slower!

it's a 1 yr old laptop,same one that ran the old software just fine ! 2 processors,its quite a reasonable one...I am not sure of all the specs,but this is for sure not the issue....
enough on that line of tact !
the problem seems to be that the old software is (maybe) not 100 % deleted...
I am not much of a computer guy...
could you spell out a step by step way to approach this...its pretty annoying...
can someone use a remote entry(to my laptop) to have a (hopefully quick look) at what the heck is wrong...
I realize this request sounds a bit presumptuous  but it might actually be simpler than us emailing back and forth for two weeks...
meanwhile the old one works fine,when I delete it and "install the June version it does the slow speed-freezes up....
I have to reboot my computer to even turn it off....
