Cave Nebula
« on: 2018 March 22 15:39:58 »
Hi all!

This image of the Cave Nebula is most likely my last for the season as we have passed spring equinox and nights will be getting lighter fast from now. Will be hard pressed by time, weather and moon to gather much more light. But the Cave Nebula is certainly a treat to photograph as the frame contains emission nebulae, reflection nebulae, supernova remnants (so I'm told, haven't found them yet), bok globules and a nice Herbig-Haro object, HH168. Didn't dig out as much reflection nebulae as I'd like as the Cepheus is located towards Oslo at this time and the sky glow washes the blue stuff out. I had one night to shoot more Blue but started out shooting Ha until the Cave had swung clear of the worst skyglow. Didn't hear the alarm trying to wake me up to change filters, so I ended up with tons of Ha and a pretty feeble rendition of the reflective dust. Got some much needed sleep, though :) .

Ciao for now. Will be back after summer.
