Image Integration for DSLR cameras
« on: 2009 June 02 09:28:43 »

All of you celebrating the fantastic ImageIntegration process and all of us who have DSLR cameras... :'(

When a Debayer support for this tool? >:D

DSS can save the calibrated and debayerized images so you can integrate them in PI.

True but then why not continue and have DSS stack them as well?

Sergio: near as I can tell dcraw debayers the raw DSLR image as soon as it's loaded, right?

I think it must be up to the user... Anyway, I'm very happy with the new weighting algorithm and think it must give the best signal to noise ratio in most cases because it weights measuring data directly from the images.

Best regards,

Vincent,

you say that DSS can save normalized images. I assume you mean the option "save calibrated images" that you can activate in the settings dialog. I tried this yesterday. The resulting TIF or FITS files are monochrome when I process my (color) Canon CR2 files. Is this a DSS bug, or am I missing something here?

Best to ask Luc in the DeepSkyStacker Y! group I think. Sorry, I have no experience with RAW DSLR frames.

Hi Sander,

I just found the right switch: You need to activate ""Setting/Stacking Settings.../Intermediate Files/Create Calibrated File for each Light Frame" and "Save a debayered image when processing RAW images". Then it works fine.

I should have looked more carefully...

Oops, I think the new weighting algorithm will be available in the next version. :)
