Opening files in Pixinsight
« on: 2017 December 21 11:34:18 »
I am using Windows 7. When I open files and folders by clicking on the PI 'desktop' I have to choose the option of which type of file extension I want to see. It invariably defaults to XISF image files, when I want to see fits files which are generated by my imaging software. Is there a way to have the file-type option show 'all files' by default rather than a specific file-type? Incidentally, I prefer  Windows explorer to the native PI file explorer.

I suppose that you have 'Remember File Open file type' checked in 'Edit/Global Preferences/File I/O Settings'. If so, uncheck it.
