Problem Exporting from Lightroom
« on: 2017 December 20 19:05:55 »
I export my pre processed photos from lightroom to pixinsight, but when I open them in pixinsight they are the original photos, not the edited ones. Im not sure what the problem is. I am new to this software and would greatly appreciate some help! :)
Thanks,

how did you preprocess your images in Lightroom? preprocessing in astrophotography generally refers to the process of calibrating images with darks, flats and bias frames. LR can't do that...

anyway, seems like your problem is with LR? maybe you have exported the images without the LR adjustments?

IMO you should just use PI to do everything, but generally speaking if people use PS or LR they use it at the end of the processing pipeline, not at the beginning.

All I do in lightroom is adjust the white balance, vingetting ect. Then, I sync all settings and save them to the computer. But when I open the saved images in pixinsight, they don't have any adjustments or edits. The pictures save and open with no problem but the edits I make don't.

You need to do some Lightroom learning. In LR you don't open and save like a traditional program. Also, like Rob said, you're better off learning how to do your entire workflow in PI. Going through LR first is only going to reduce your quality. To my mind the proper place for LR in an astronomy workflow is cataloging final results and handling output sharpening and/or printing.

One more thing, After I stack the pictures with calibration frames and everythingin pixinsight, the final photo has lots of vingetting and bright spots all over, im not sure if this is because I didnt adjust it beforehand...

you shouldn't have to adjust anything in advance... are you using Flat frames? if so were they taken at the same ISO as the lights?

yes - using flats will correct the vignetting and dust spots without the need for LR.

Hey im not sure why but after taking flats and using them there is still a large bright spot in the middle, it definently correcting the vingetting some but still some. If u want i can send u a picture via email.

you can upload your masters and a few of the calibration subs to dropbox or google drive or whatever and post the link here

I fixed that problem thanks and another question, :D this relates to lightroom, since I take my pictures in my backyard which is near a city, my pics come out with a warm orange tint, thats why I use lightroom in order to remove the orange tint, is there an alternative or does it not matter?

yes absolutely...

1) use DBE to remove the gradients in the stacked master
2) use BackgroundNeutralization to equalize the channels
3) use ColorCalibration or PhotometricColorCalibration to calibrate the colors...
