What's going on?
« on: 2017 December 19 22:18:16 »
The last set of data I Pre-processed ended up a complete mess. I've pre-processed and pre-processed and this is what I've come up with. The first one shows how it turns out with 5 processes (debayer, cosmetic correction, image calibration, star alignment and image integration in that order)  in the default mode the other one shows the best I can get!! Never had this trouble before the camera and scope have not been changed, would be grateful if anyone has any ideas  to what has happened.

Hi,

Perhaps try this workflow:
Image Calibration ---> Cosmetic Correction ---> Debayer ---> Star Alignment --- Local Normalization (optional) ---> Image Integration

Just tried that workflow, John. Got nothing just black frames, yes I did stretch them. I think that I will forget that data set.

mmmh, ok try this now, run Blink and check that the images contain data.  Now move on to ImageCalibration and ensure that the correct number of images are calibrated and exist in the output folder.  Now go back to Blink and check the "Calibrated" files.  Continue like this checking the output files for each workflow step.  I think your issue is the output files are being saved into the wrong folder.  As a side note, picked up many issues by doing ImageIntegration before ImageCalibration (oops) so just work carefully checking each stage of the process.  If you drop me an email I will send you a small text doc that has a workflow as suggested by "LightVortexAstronomy.com"

Also check all your flats, bias darks etc. You can get pretty odd results if what you thought was a dark was in fact a flat, been there done that got the tee shirt etc.
