Using DSSImageDownload to facilitate DBE
« on: 2009 May 22 07:28:40 »

Hi,

I can't find the original thread but whoever came up with that idea is a genius! I just tried this on a very difficult object, the dust cloud around Rho Oph. Difficult because it's so huge that it's nearly impossible to place DBE samples without trashing the data. My field of view is wider than what the DSSImageDownload script allows but it was still useful to place a few samples in relatively dark areas in the center. Now I just need to find some more samples on the outside edges. I'll probably download another image, shifted to the side and use that to find some dark areas.

This technique should make for an interesting tutorial! I would write it but it wasn't my idea so I'll leave it to whoever came up with it.

Thanks!
Best,

    Sander
