Issues with canon 80D raws

I've tried to help a friend with image processing and had some weird issues. I'm not sure why, but PI can't read the right resolution for the image and it looks like a scrambled jigsaw puzzle (see attached images). Does anybody have a fix for that problem?

Some extra info:
- The dslr is a canon 80D.
- This issue doesn't happen with other canon dslr
- This issue also happens in DSS
- The JPEG preview is unaffected

i can not comment directly about the 80D since i don't have one to try. dunno if there is some camera setting that's causing an incompatibility or if DCRAW simply does not support the 80D.

but each generation of canon cameras brings a slightly different CR2 format. for years Dave Coffin would reverse engineer these new CR2 formats and include support in dcraw.c, which is what PI uses to open camera raw files. Dave Coffin recently announced he's not going to maintain dcraw.c, so juan has decided to switch to libRaw, which is an open source project focused on the same problem. from his forum posts i understand that he's working on rolling libRaw into the next release of PI.

If you have 'Dual Pixel Raw' activated in the camera, turn it off. The raw development software dcraw currently used by PixInsight does not support Dual Pixel Raw mode. That means raws that were shot with Dual Pixel Raw activated in the camera cannot be processed with PixInsight at present.

Thanks for your answer. I've been able to check his camera and dual pixel raw was enabled. Disabling it solved all the issues.
