. . . .   I shall redo them all in 1.8 .

Harry

Wow! That would be a lot of work!
While I too notice that PI looks quite a bit different in its latest incarnation than in the videos, I have had no trouble following them. Being totally selfish, I'd prefer you spent your efforts on new videos rather than redoing old ones.   :P

A suggested workflow for images from first opening them in Pi to closing the programme would help me. I am often confused about when to make the switch from linear to stretched.

And thanks for your mighty efforts to date. I'd never have gotten off the ground with PI were it not for your videos!

Terry

Hi,

I'd like to put in a "+1" for Terry's suggestion. There is no problem to follow the videos with the older PI versions. However, for me as a beginner it was/is hard to put them together to a basic workflow. A DSLR workflow from the beginning to the end with common tasks, hints/tool suggestions (like different approaches for nebulae/galaxies, incorporating Ha into DSLR-RGB, etc) would be an enormous help to anyone first encountering PI.

By the way, many thanks for the "What do they do" section on your page.

Finally: a repetition of Terry's last sentences: "And thanks for your mighty efforts to date. I'd never have gotten off the ground with PI were it not for your videos!"

Hi Jozsef

I am not a expert on dslr images , but after calibration I see very little in how you handle the data , say from my OSC colour camera

But I think as well as the video update I might collate some of the very good imformation from this forum into say

" a quick start guide " and a more advanced section

Many thanks for your input

Hi Harry
Keep up the good work.  Not sure what your schedule is, but I would suggest that new stuff should come before updates.

Harry your videos are legendary and I applaud your resilience and determination to update them.  I have lost touch with the software for well over 12 months due to the horrible weather we have been experiencing on the East Coast of Australia.  I really need to get back into it, and what better way then through your tutelage :D ;)

Hi

Just added a short video on RGB channel combination in the newbie section as I get more questions on this than I thought I would  :-[

Also it shows how to use the" Linear fit " process to balance the channels on difficult images with a hard to remove colour Bias

Harry

BTW

Finished doing up the house again , so hopefully over the next few months I will get back on the horse and release some new overdue vids  :-*
