« on: 2009 May 17 11:43:21 »
Hi All

I am trying to use the star alignment and my images usually require rescaling , so when star alignment trys to do its stuff
it can not find any stars, short of rescaling every image what can I do!

Also It does a good job of aligning on hot pixels  , so ideas here as well anyone

Harry,

I haven't tried this yet (perfectly happy with DSS) but the best thing to do is to select two images that show this problem and upload them somewhere for Juan to try. There are probably options to reject hot pixels but I don't know which those are. Try sendspace.com or skydrive.live.com for uploading large files. There are other services as well.
Best,

Hi Harry,

There should be no problem at all with scale differences; StarAlignment can deal with them (within certain limits, of course).

Hot pixels can indeed be a problem. You can try increasing the number of noise layers to filter hot pixels out. However, as Sander has said, you can upload your images and I'll be glad to take a look at them. You can upload them (preferably packed as a single zip file) to our anonymous ftp server. You already have used our ftp before, or am I wrong?

StarAlignment is one of our "leading ships" so I'm always interested in improving it by testing difficult cases.

Hi Juan

I will upload to your FTP server for your attention.

When I said the rescale I was having it is the 0 to 1 rescale not image size!
