Verify Right Filter Used

Hello,

I am wondering if PI has a utility that can be quickly used in the field to verify that the right filter has been used. I am new to LRGB imaging and have no way of being sure if the right filter is used for now until I actually process, and by then it might be too late.

I use SGP to manage imaging.

Sounds like your not sure your filter wheel is working/setup properly. If that's the case set the camera for short exposures, like 5 seconds and shine a light down the telescope or opening of the camera. You should be able to see the color of the filter. If not hold the light at an angle. However with an image open you can read the FITS header which should list the filter called for but can't confirm the physical filter hence the suggestion to manually check. If you are using a SBIG camera use the SBIG program CCDOps to connect and test the filter wheel. You can set for a series of exposures with filter changes happening as it progresses.
