While I have the extract CIE L* icon on my Windows 7 install of 1.8.5 I understand many don't. You can always use the Channel Extraction tool or the pull down menu but I have made a simple process icon you can load in to your workspace. Just unzip and load the icon. It should appear in the top section of Workspace 1.

mmmh, I paid for that button and I want it back (please) and none of these fancy processes icons either .... hahaha
