What platform do you use most often with PixInsight?

That is good to hear. Every time I am about to commit to purchasing Win7, I manage to talk myself out of doing so at the very last minute !

Now all I need to do is to financially recover from the excesses of this crazy festive season, and I might get round to considering the upgrade once again !!

Windows 7 64 bit running on an 8 core machine with 16gig of Ram. PI works like a dream on it.

I have just reinstalled the SO in my machine. I am now using Win7/64 on a Core2 duo with 4GB of RAM. I haven't done many tests, but the computer feels "snappier" than with XP/32. PI also seems OK.

I'm running on Win 7 64 bit with Quad core Intel i7 processor, 12 gigs RAM. PI runs great and fast.

I've just updated the poll to include Windows 7. Also, the maximum number of votes per user is now 4, which allows you to vote for several platforms in case you have PI installed on them.

Users are allowed to change their votes so Carlos and Steve, you can remove yours from the "Other" option and vote for your OS.

Moved to windows 7 64 bits (from other windows environments). Absolutely great (I have 12GB mem, can make good use of the 4 cores). This should really be the  (window)  platform of choice if you have at least 4GB (for people having to stay in Windows at least).

I use four types of systems

Linux (Minty 9 and CentOS 5.5)
Windows Vista
Windows XP

I am in the process of trying to lessen my use of Windows...at least that is the current goal.

I voted for Mac 32bit version.
I tried the 64 one but I find that the 32 bit version runs kindely stabler than the other one, even though my machine is 64bit capable..

I use Vista 64 on my laptop ( which is what I'm trying out PI with ) and it's very stable... also use the same laptop for imaging.  Vista 64 is _much_ better than the 32 bit versions.  Right now I see no need to change or upgrade... and who knows what drivers would break or need to be fixed <g>.  The laptop is a dual core with 8gb so it's happy, if PI is happy, I'm happy. <g>

This survey is 'undersampled' and hopefully others will fill it in.   Why is this not known by PixInsight as a function of the install feedback?  (just curious).    If this is important longer term for the  PixInsight team then someday you may consider that PixInsight save some metrics itself such as number of functions executed then this could be fed back next time that person does a 'check for updates'.  I know, yet another thing to mess with and an entirely new infrastructure element for your software distribution system.    Just a thought you have already discounted because you guys are very busy doing killer job on this product anyway.  Above was for you and NOT a feature request by myself.
