Repository error
« on: 2017 June 15 12:10:12 »
Hi,
I'm currently running Pixinsight -1.08.04- on two different Windows 7 computers. The same pixinsight-license file is on both machines. They both work fine, however the desktop shows a failed to load repository error briefly at startup. The laptop does not. Because of the error I can't install updates. This probably is a computer issue, any suggestions ?
Thanks.
Gary

Hi,

Does the PC that has the repository error have an internet connection?

John,
Yes it does. I tried reloading the Pixinsight License file, but that didn't work. A friend said he had the same problem and Pixinsight told him to edit a line in a text file, butr he cant remember which one.

Gary, you can check which update repositories you have selected on each machine with clicking in the upper tab row
RESOURCES
         Updates
               Manage Repositories

This gets you the info what respositories you have selected on the specific PC.

I assume on the new installtion you will have less repositories defiined?

Thanks everybody. T tried the suggestions, but the same thing. I ended up pixinsight uninstalling the whole program and reinstaling it. I still get the error, but It installed all the latest updates for me. I guess that's the workaround.
Thanks again for all the inputs.
