PI will not open again after I close it once
« on: 2017 April 27 10:03:24 »
I'm using PI on a 64bit Windows 10 machine.  I have a strange issue where if I open PI once, do my image processing, then close PI, I cannot re-open PI again without first restarting the computer.

Any idea what's going on?

I'm glad to provide any other info or logs if I am told what to provide.  Thanks!

Hi,

I have had a similar issue.  It would seem that when exiting PixInsight, it takes a short while before the information in the computer memory (RAM) is cleared.  I find if I wait 30 seconds before re-starting PixInsight, then it load again.  This is not just a PixInsight issue because I have found this happens with other applications as well.

There is a known problem with the current version on Windows. Sometimes the application takes a while to fully terminate execution. As John says, just wait a bit longer.

This problem has been completely fixed in the next version 1.8.5 of PixInsight. 1.8.5 is a very complex release with many new features and new and completely redesigned tools, so please bear with me while I manage to complete it.
