Basic UI question
« on: 2017 April 03 12:17:46 »
At each launch of PI I move the Preview and Screen Transfer Function tool bars to the bottom of the screen as they are easier to access. Is there a way for the tool bars to remain in this position at start up? I have tried saving the adjusted UI as a default project, but a new launch of this project reinstates the tool bars in their original position.

I am using a MacintoshiMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), 3.3 GHz Intel Core i5

Thanks, Ray

I have similar problem. At each launch in different screen resolution I need to modify tool bar (remove zoom icon set for example). If I start PixInsight with external display (different resolution as primary display on laptop), tool bar is back. Is it possible to remove this "feature"? I asked this question in wish list topic, but without comment.

Hello,
try to disperse the Explorer Icons/Windows (Process Explorer to File Explorer) to both sides of the screen. Then you may get space for a second tool bar.            Gerhard

Hi Ray, which version of PixInsight are you using? OS X — 01.08.04.1199 Ripley is the last one. I tested it in Linux with version Linux — 01.08.04.1198 Ripley and it works fine.
Saludos, Alejandro.

Thanks for the replies :)

GJL - I am specifically moving both the Preview and Screen Transfer Functions tool bars to the bottom of the screen alongside the Workspace Selector tool bar. There is plenty of space for them.

Alejandro - I am using PixInsight v. 01.08.04.1199 on MacOS Sierra v. 10.12.4. I set up the screen with my workflow Processes on the right of the screen and moved the two tool bars to the bottom of the screen and saved it as a Project (see attachment). When I launch the Project the Processes are loaded and appear but the tool bars shift back up to the top of the screen.

Thanks

Ray

Your image shows the STF and Preview toolbars at the bottom of the screen. Is this before or after loading the project? I am using PI v. 01.08.04.1198 on a MacOS Sierra 10.12.4. Works fine for me.

Thanks for the replies :)

Hi John

I open a new project, place my workflow processes on the right of the screen, move the STF and Preview toolbars to the bottom of the screen and then save the project. When I reopen the saved project the processes are still on the right of the screen but the STF and Preview toolbars are back at the top of the screen, not at the bottom where I would like them.

Thanks
Ray
