Wondering what is the best way to start with PixInsight?    What I mean,  how to learn it.
I notice there are quite a number of tutorials around.  But is that the way to go?

Thanks for any input.

You're the only one that can answer that. You indicate no level or understanding of image processing so no-one can really tell you where to start. I'd strongly suggest going to the tutorials that Harry provides here as a start http://harrysastroshed.com/pixinsight/pixinsight%20video%20html/Pixinsighthome.html and then progress from there. Don't assume anything and start from the beginner level and work up. It helps if you already have data to test with. Then you can progress to the higher levels and go from there. There are the official PI Videos, individuals that provide tutorials as well as a newly released book by Warren Keller that covers PI very well. Personally I think Harry's page is the best start so you can get use to the user interface and terminology. And then there's this forum as well. Don't forget to go to PI's webpage and look under resources for additional assistance.

Hi,
Harry's pages are excellent. An other and very good "starting point" is this place:
http://www.lightvortexastronomy.com/tutorials.html

It helped me tremendously. Hope it will help you as well. Merry Christmas!

IP4AP.com is also an excellent resource. We have many free tutorials and a great getting started 'Primer'.

Have fun!

Hi,

If you have an Apple device, I strongly recomend buying the Official Quick Guide to PixInsight. It's a guide to the user interface, so it's the best way to start using the software. Please read this thread and this thread for more info.

Best regards,
Vicent.
