Need to debayer Cr2 files
« on: 2016 November 02 13:43:41 »
Hi
I've just opened a raw cr2 file and it's still in colour without me having to debayer it.
They used to open in mono so I presume there's been an update for this to be the case. I don't know how long ago this happened so apologies if it's already been discussed somewhere.

Is there still a need to colour balance or has the update also dispensed with this requirement as well, or does it just depend on the image?

Go to format explorer (View->Explorer Windows->Format Explorer)
Select DSLR_RAW and click "Edit Preferences" at the bottom right
The settings in this dialog determine how your CR2 file is opened.

The common two options can be set by clicking either "Pure Raw" or "de-Bayer RGB"

Ah great, thanks for explaining.
I've had to reinstall pixinsite because of a new hard drive so the default setting on the new install must be debayer RGB.
