CosmeticCorrection and dithered images
« on: 2016 October 11 02:50:48 »
Hi there,

I use itelescope to capture data, and one of the options when setting up a run is to dither the images so that defects should be removed during the stacking process.

My question is, if I then run the CosmeticCorrection process on these images can I just add them all to the process at once, or do I need to do them individually?

What about if I use a defects list file, would this work if the images have been dithered?

Thanks

Kevin

I do the same thing, use itelescope and dithering, and I run CosmeticCorrection on all the calibrated images in one batch. Since the defects are in the CCD the dithering doesn't change in position in the image (provided that you run it before star alignment). I keep a separate defects list for each telescope and find that I can re-use it from imaging session to imaging session
