BPP and flats
« on: 2016 September 10 07:43:30 »
When using BPP, my "calibrated" images don't appear to have had the flat subtracted.  I believe the FITS header also shows this.  I'm attaching one "calibrated" image, the FITS header, and master flat.  I calibrate my flats using a superbias subtraction only and integrate them outside of BPP.  I then use the master flat in the BPP.

i think if you make the master flat outside of BPP then the master flat is missing some fits keywords that BPP uses to recognize the master flat as a flat and what filter it's for. you can add those fits keywords, but in order to see what they all are you need to make a master flat with BPP.

otherwise, i think when you add the master flat you can use "add custom" and then specify the fact that it's a master flat and what filter it's for. but not sure as i don't use BPP on a regular basis.

Thanks Rob.  I do use the Add Custom to load the flats and specify all the parameters like filter, binning, etc.   After integration the the new FITS header leaves out all the past info and only contains what happened during integration as far as I can see.
