This cannot be reproduced on any platform. I would need to have the images (reference and target) to say something more. As always, without the images we have no way to help.

Juan,

Attached is link to two files (sorry 450MB) with which this error occurs.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ne7glfdzn3qwjlm/CatalogStars_crop.xisf?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hj2nf85wqfzwnu7/m42_7_300s_int_ABE_bg_cc_DBE.xisf?dl=0

Error only occurs when reference image is to a "file".  Works ok with reference image to  a "view".  Platform is Windows 7.

See details below:

I tried with the default settings in Star Alignment but that didn't work. My next step was to use very aggressive settings and that did. I would not normally use anything near these settings but I just wanted to show that StarAlignment would work.

I just saw where your error occurs when using the reference image from a file. I ran the StarAlignment again with the catalog star file from the hard drive and not as a view. I had no problem. I am also running Windows 7 and the latest PI.

Mike,

Thanks for the info. I eventually solved it too. It was during the hunt for a solution and only whilst using the "putative star matching' working mode that I got the error.
