Hi,

I tried to create a mosaic of two images using the just released new staralignment module. During try #9 it runs out of memory. This is on a 32 bit windows box with 2.5 GB actual memory. Looking at task manager PI never goes over 500 MB and there's plenty left to get on the system.

Any ideas what's going on?
Best,

Hi Sander,

Apparently, this shouldn't happen. Could I see the images you're trying to register? If you want, you can upload them to our anonymous ftp server, where you have 4 GB available at least.

What do you mean by actual memory? The memory left free after operating system. usage or the total amount of installed memory?

Hi Juan,

unfortunately I can't reproduce the problem. I did twice earlier today but now it's not happening anymore. The two images (Heart and Soul Nebulae) can probably not be mosaic'd but I wanted to try anyway.

With the memory bit I meant that task manager showed the commit charge being something like 1200 MB out of 2390 MB available. In other words there was plenty of memory available in the system.

If I run into the issue again I'll let you know.
